The chain
Every business runs a Revenue Chain: the ordered path a buyer travels from first demand to booked revenue, and the loop that feeds what you learn back into where you spend. ShiFt models that path as six links. Each link has one job. When a link fails its job, revenue you already paid to create leaks out — usually silently, because the lead simply never comes back.

The chain is a loop. Link 6 reconciles source-to-revenue outcomes and feeds them back into Link 1, so demand spend follows evidence instead of guesswork. A repair in an upstream link changes the inputs to every link below it — which is why the Kit always diagnoses the whole chain before repairing any single link.
This is the single customer-facing framework for the Kit. Any internal "6-Zone" terminology is an implementation detail and is not a competing customer-facing framework; its reconciliation is tracked separately and is not part of this document.
Link 1 — Demand + Source
- Job: Attract and correctly attribute qualified demand to its true source.
- What leaks here: real buyers arrive from sources you cannot see or trust, so
you over-spend on weak sources and under-fund strong ones. Untracked and misattributed sources make every downstream number unreliable.
- What good looks like: every lead carries a trustworthy source; source
quality is scored by booked appointments and revenue, not raw volume.
- Primary signals: tracked-source coverage, qualified-lead rate by source,
cost per qualified lead, source-to-revenue rate.

Link 2 — Speed-to-Lead
- Job: Acknowledge and make first two-way contact within the response standard.
- What leaks here: buyer intent decays fast; slow, missed, or after-hours
responses let active buyers cool off or shop competitors before you engage.
- What good looks like: instant, consistent first response across every
channel — calls, forms, chat, text — including after hours and on missed calls.
- Primary signals: median time-to-first-contact, first-response SLA
attainment, missed-lead coverage, after-hours coverage.

Link 3 — Qualification
- Job: Consistently determine fit, intent, urgency, and routing without
falsely disqualifying good buyers.
- What leaks here: strong buyers get buried in noise, routed late, or handed
to sales without enough context; good-fit leads are disqualified by accident.
- What good looks like: consistent qualification questions capture fit,
urgency, need, and value, and route stronger opportunities with better context.
- Primary signals: qualification coverage, good-fit leakage rate, routing
accuracy, handoff-context completeness.

Link 4 — Follow-Up
- Job: Persist appropriately through event-aware sequences until a clear stop
condition (books, responds, declines, or disqualifies).
- What leaks here: eligible leads are abandoned before they give a clear
yes/no/not-now, because follow-up is weak, late, or human-dependent.
- What good looks like: persistent, multi-channel, event-aware follow-up that
keeps working until a defined stop condition and recovers otherwise-abandoned opportunities.
- Primary signals: follow-up attempt depth, no-follow-up rate, channel
coverage, recovered-opportunity rate.

Link 5 — Booking + Handoff
- Job: Convert readiness into a confirmed appointment and an acknowledged
handoff.
- What leaks here: qualified intent leaks during scheduling friction,
no-shows, or an incomplete handoff that leaves sales without context.
- What good looks like: low-friction booking, active no-show management, and a
documented handoff carrying notes, source data, and next actions.
- Primary signals: qualified-to-booked rate, scheduling-friction indicators,
no-show/reschedule rate, handoff completeness.
- Repair home: Booking + Handoff Playbook (Link 5).
Link 6 — Attribution + Decision Intelligence
- Job: Reconcile source-to-fee outcomes and feed decisions back to Link 1.
- What leaks here: the business cannot prove which dollars created
appointments and revenue, so it cannot confidently decide what to cut, keep, or scale — and it repeats the wrong spend.
- What good looks like: source and journey context is preserved through the
funnel, appointments and revenue connect back to source, and budget decisions are made on evidence.
- Primary signals: appointment-source-known rate, revenue-source-known rate,
decision confidence, spend efficiency.

The feedback loop
Link 6 is not the end of a line — it closes the loop. Reconciled source-to-revenue outcomes flow back into Link 1 so the next cycle of demand spend is aimed at the sources that actually produced booked revenue. A Revenue Chain without this loop optimizes activity; a Revenue Chain with it optimizes revenue.
